PM Modi arrives in Copenhagen after completing his Germany tour, PM of Denmark gave a warm welcome

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Denmark on Tuesday on the second leg of his 3-nation tour, PM Modi will attend the second India-Nordic summit here.

PM Narendra Modi Europe visit Live Updates: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has now reached Denmark after completing his Germany tour as part of the first leg of his three-nation Europe tour. PM Modi reached the Danish capital Copenhagen on Tuesday on the second leg of his Europe tour.

On reaching Copenhagen, PM Modi was given a warm welcome. The Prime Minister of Denmark, Mette Frederiksen herself gave a warm welcome to PM Modi.

The people of the Indian community present at the airport welcomed PM Modi in a traditional way. PM Modi held talks with Danish PM Mette Frederiksen. During this, PM Modi will participate in the second India-Nordic summit. PM Modi has arrived here from Germany. He held detailed bilateral talks with Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Germany and co-chaired the India-Germany Inter-Governmental Consultations.

PM’s first visit to Denmark

This is the first visit of Prime Minister Modi to Denmark. India-Denmark: Green Strategic Partnership was launched in September 2020 during a digital conference. This partnership was transformed into a result-oriented five-year action plan during the visit of Prime Minister Fredericksen to India in October 2021.

PM Modi will also meet Queen Margrethe II. During this, he will participate in the India-Denmark Business Roundtable and will also interact with the Indian-origin community living in Denmark.

More than 200 Danish companies in India are active in taking forward Make in India, Jal Jeevan Mission, Digital India and other major national missions. More than 60 Indian companies are strengthening bilateral business ties in Denmark, mainly involving companies in the IT sector. About 16,000 people of Indian origin live in Denmark.

Will take partin India-Nordic summit

Apart from bilateral talks in Denmark, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also participate in the second India-Nordic Summit with the Prime Ministers of Denmark, Iceland, Finland, Sweden and Norway.

During this he will review cooperation since the first India-Nordic summit in 2018. The conference will focus on economic partnership, green partnership and mobility and cooperation in the Arctic region.

PM Modi had said that on the sidelines of the summit, I will also meet leaders of four other Nordic countries and review progress in India’s bilateral ties with them. He said that the Nordic countries are India’s important partners in the fields of sustainability, renewable energy, digitization and innovation.

The visit will help enhance our multilateral cooperation with the Nordic region. India’s trade with the Nordic countries is more than five billion dollars.
