Imagine that you apply for a job in one of your favorite companies and you are rejected in the first place. You will apply after this for the second time, third time, fourth time or even fifth time. But can you imagine that a person can apply for a job in the same company 39 times. Yes… it really happened.
When a person wanted a job in his ‘dream company’ Google 39 times and every time he had to face rejection. But now a twist has come in this story and that is that in the 40th time this person finally got a job in Google. Tyler Cohen admitted that he kept applying to Google despite many rejections. In doing so he crossed the line between perseverance and madness.
He shared a screenshot of his chat history with the tech giant on LinkedIn. In this you will see emails from before 2019. Cohen, who lives in San Francisco, wrote,”There’s a fine line between perseverance and insanity. I’m still trying to figure out whether it was my persistence or insanity.”
Cohen is expected to step down from his position as Associate Manager of Strategy and Operations at DoorDash to join Google. This post of Cohen is becoming quite viral at the moment.
More than 36,000 comments have come on this. Not only this, his post reached Google itself. The company welcomed Cohen to the team through its official LinkedIn account. While many users on LinkedIn congratulated him, many users discussed Google’s recruitment process more than Cohen’s skills when he got the job after 39 tries.
This happened because the user said,”You applied on 3rd May and it got rejected. You applied again on May 6th and got the job. We believe that these two applications were for different posts. Otherwise it would mean that Google’s recruitment process is completely random.
