Karachi: A bomb blast near the Pakistani city of Karachi has killed at least one person and injured 13 others

One person was killed and 13 others were injured in a powerful explosion on Thursday night (May 12, 20022) in the Sadar region of Karachi, Pakistan.

Pakistani authorities are investigating the cause of the blast. Preliminary reports indicate that the injured were hit by milk bearings found on the bomb equipment.

During the blast, several nearby vehicles were damaged and the windows of nearby buildings were shattered, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Sharjeel Karlin said.

All those injured in the blast have been transferred to Jinnah Hospital as authorities investigate the cause of the blast. The condition of some of them is worrying.

Pakistan-based local News reports that a state of emergency has been declared in all public hospitals in Karachi.

The condition of four people who were injured in the blast and are being treated at the hospital is said to be critical.

In the wounds of the wounded, iron particles commonly found in explosives and scatterings of milk bearings are found.

Earlier on April 27, a female suicide bomber killed three Chinese teachers outside Karachi University.

This is the second time in two weeks that the city of Karachi has been hit by a bomb blast.

The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), a separatist group based in the southwestern province of Balochistan bordering Afghanistan and Iran, has claimed responsibility for the bombing.
