Texas: Twenty One people, including 18 children, have been killed in a shooting at an elementary school in the US state of Texas. The state governor says 18 students and a teacher have been brutally shot dead at a school in Wolverhampton, 85 miles west of San Antonio.
Authorities say the shooter was an 18-year-old man who shot dead 18 students and a teacher.
Authorities said the children injured in the incident were taken by ambulance to nearby hospitals and it was not immediately clear how many people were injured except those who died in the shooting.
All schools in the district were reportedly closed due to the shooting.
The incident in which 18 children were killed in a shooting at a Texas elementary school has come as a huge shock.

Gov. Greg Abbott told reporters Tuesday that 21 people, including 18 children and a teacher, were killed in a shooting at an elementary school in Wolde, Texas.
Speaking at a news conference in Abilene, Abbott said the suspected shooter was dead and identified as an 18-year-old man from Wolde.
“The suspect acted alone during his heinous crime,” he said during the brief statement. “Families are informed and we provide services to them,” he said.
There is an active shooter at Robb Elementary. Law enforcement is on site. Your cooperation is needed at this time by not visiting the campus. As soon as more information is gathered it will be shared.

A 66-year-old woman and a 10-year-old girl were taken to a university hospital in San Antonio. The hospital has confirmed that the condition of a 66-year-old man is worrying.
Wolverine Police Department officials initially said the suspected gunman was arrested around 1:06 p.m. Local time.
